Learn how Forbytes engineers operate inside Guesty’s AI-driven environment and what it takes to build software at AI speed.
Our client, Guesty, is a global property management platform serving the short-term rental industry. Forbytes engineers work inside Guesty’s development team as an extension of their in-house staff.
AI is already standard practice across the property management industry. Guesty’s engineering was working well before AI adoption, but the workflow still had a few limitations:
To preserve its competitive edge and market-leading position, Guesty moved quickly to adopt AI across engineering.
Guesty approached AI readiness as a company-wide shift. The key goals were:
Bring your questions about data, systems, and access rules, and leave with a clear first step.
Guesty built its AI-ready environment around Cursor, and Forbytes engineers work in this setup every day.
Cursor is the main tool for both Guesty’s in-house engineers and the Forbytes developers. Around 90% of the code produced by the team now starts as an AI draft. That doesn’t mean less oversight — engineers still write code to check what AI produces. However, the time spent on the first pass of a feature has dropped significantly.
Testing follows the same pattern. AI handles a large share of automated and manual testing. It can produce a demo of a new feature for engineers to sign off on before release. Nothing ships without a human looking at it, but the human isn’t building the test suite from scratch anymore.
Grafana alerts, Split.io toggles, Jira tickets, Slack code reviews, log investigations — all of this routes through Cursor now. An engineer who used to jump between five tools to resolve a support ticket can do most of that work from one place. Most of the interfaces used before now sit behind a single AI-linked workspace.

Product managers at Guesty own the client relationship. It shapes what gets built regardless of how fast the code behind it comes. That division of labor holds for Forbytes engineers, too: less time writing from scratch, more time deciding what’s right. Nobody’s automating the conversation with a client about why a feature matters. That’s the part of the job AI is never going to take. In our work, the real user needs, pains, and goals are what matter the most.
The development process became faster and more predictable. Still, it didn’t lose the human judgment that requirements and client needs depend on. The results of AI adoption at Guesty include:
